The device (D) has a slide (CO) mounted in translation on a support unit (MS) attached to an assistance gauge (G). Two arms comprise a portion (P1) attached to the slide and another portion (P2) provided with a main housing (L1). The housing is opened toward a front part to allow introduction of an end of an axis (A) of an element (CH) i.e. hinge. A retained unit (MR) is arranged to retain the end of the axis in the housing to fix the element on a part i.e. tailgate. The latter portion of the arms includes a secondary housing that is in communication with one of portions of the main housing.
