PURPOSE: A tool control device and method for cleaning a gas inlet of a ladle are provided to prevent safety accidents by automatically controlling the oxygen injection of a tool. CONSTITUTION: A tool control device for cleaning a gas inlet of a ladle is composed of a detection sensor(20), a valve(30), and a controller(10). The detection sensor senses a tool by injecting oxygen to a gas inlet of a ladle. The valve is installed in the tool and opens and closes the oxygen flowing into the tool through a control signal. The controller operates the valve after the delay time set through the control signal. The set delay time is 5-25 seconds.
