A controller capable of monitoring the execution order of a plurality of sequences and a process monitoring method are provided. Execution order information (70) of a plurality of sequences based on identification information assigned to a plurality of processes executed by an execution unit (20) is stored in a memory (12). An ID decision unit (32) determines whether or not the identification information output from the ID notification unit (22a) matches the identification information specified for each sequence by the preset ID specification unit (31).
