PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is manufactured with a small number of masks and achieves high reliability, and to provide a light emitting device.

SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes: a gate electrode; a gate insulator film positioned on the gate electrode; a semiconductor film positioned on the gate insulator film and overlapping with the gate electrode; an island like first insulator film positioned on the semiconductor film and overlapping with the gate electrode; a first conductive film position on the semiconductor film; a pair of second conductive films sandwiching the first insulator film and positioned on the semiconductor film; a second insulator film positioned on the first insulator film, the first conductive film, and the pair of second conductive films; and a pixel electrode which is positioned on the second insulator film and is connected with one of the pair of second conductive films through a first opening provided at the second insulator film. A second opening, positioned between the first conductive film and the one or the other of the pair of second conductive films, is provided on the second insulation film and the semiconductor film.
