<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust cover for a ball joint in which a problem of an opening phenomenon of a small-diameter opening of the dust cover is effectively eliminated even under a low-temperature condition in which physical properties of an elastic material are deteriorated. <P>SOLUTION: The dust cover composed of an elastic material and used for a ball joint is configured so that a ball head formed at one end of the ball stud is held in a socket, a shaft at the other end of the ball stud is fastened and affixed to a knuckle, a large-diameter opening at one end is fixed to and held by the outer peripheral surface of the socket, and a small-diameter opening at the other end is held by the shaft. An annular step is formed at the inner peripheral side end of the knuckle which is in contact with the dust cover. Part of the small-diameter opening is inserted in a space formed of the annular step and the outer peripheral surface of the shaft, and the outer peripheral surface of the small-diameter opening is held by the inner peripheral surface of the annular step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
