<p>A ranging system comprises a transmitter (T1) at a transmitter position (PT1) for transmitting a transmitter signal (TS1) at a transmitter instant (tT1), a first receiver (R1) at a first receiver position (PR1) for indicating a first instant (t R1) at which the transmitter signal (TS1) reaches the first receiver (R1), and a second receiver (R2) at a second receiver position (PR2) for indicating a second instant (t R2) at which the transmitter signal (TS1) reaches the second receiver (R2). A calculator (CAL) determines a relative difference (t R12; dd12)between the first instant (t R1) and the second instant (t R2), and the estimator (EST) is configured for estimating the absolute difference (t A11, t A12) between the transmitter instant (t T1) and either the first instance (t R1). An estimator (EST) receives the relative difference (t R12) and geometrical information (GI) defined by a geometrical property of a configuration of the transmitter (T1), the first receiver (R1), and the second receiver (R2), to obtain an estimated absolute difference (t A11,t A12) between the transmitter instant (t T1) and the first instance (t R1).</p> |
