<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle remote start device which requires no complicated work and does not reduce a security level. <P>SOLUTION: A portable device 16 transmits a personal identification code signal, and receives a personal identification code signal. A verification control unit 6 permits a vehicle control unit 4 to start the engine, when the personal identification code matches a reference code, and the vehicle control unit 4, on receipt of an engine start signal, starts the engine 14. The vehicle remote start device includes: a remote controller 34 which wirelessly transmits a remote controller start signal, and wirelessly transmits the personal identification code signal when receiving the personal identification code signal from the portable device 16; and an in-vehicle device 30 which is disposed in the vehicle 1 and receives the remote controller start signal, and when receiving the personal identification code signal, transmits the personal identification code signal and the engine start signal to the vehicle control unit 4.
