In a method for producing a pipe connection by means of press fitting, the following steps are carried out to increase the burst pressure: placing a press fitting (12) onto two pipe ends (10) to be connected to one another; compressing the press fitting (12) against one of the two pipe ends (10) by plastically deforming the press fitting (12) and the pipe end (10) to form a bulge (14) and a first indentation (16); once again compressing the press fitting (12) against the same pipe end (10) at a distance (a) from the first compression point by plastically deforming the press fitting (12) and the pipe end (10), thereby forming a second indentation (20); and connecting the press fitting (12) to the second pipe end (10). |
