<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To progress a game by reading data recorded in a card. <P>SOLUTION: The card game apparatus 10 includes: two container portions 12; a main control unit 14 for the display control of the container portions 12; and a plurality of terminal apparatuses 16a through 16h that are connected to the main control unit 14 such that communications are possible. A game player purchases an IC card 18 and eleven player cards 20 on each of which soccer player's photograph is printed. When the game player places the player cards 20 on a player card arrangement panel 24 of each terminal apparatus 16, an image sensor disposed inside the terminal apparatus reads the card data recorded on the back of the player card 20. Then, data of the soccer players organizying a team are created from the card data, and a game is started.
