The present invention relates to a system for affecting the autonomic nervous system of a subject, comprising a vibration stimulation device configured to impart vibrations to a tissue of said subject at a frequency of to 100 Hz and an average pressure of 20 to 120 mbar, a user interface for receiving and transmitting input information about the illness, and a control unit configured to operate the vibration stimulation device on the basis of the received input information. The present invention moreover relates to methods for stimulation of the autonomic nervous system in a subject by imparting vibrations from a vibration stimulation device to a treatment site by use of the said system. |
