The invention relates to a composition for changing the colour and/or shape of keratin fibres, in particular human hair, comprising, in a cosmetic carrier, at least one colour- and/or shape-changing component and additionally a polymer (A) with at least one structural unit (A1), in which R1 is a C4-30 alkyl radical. The compositions according to the invention have an improvement in the moisture balance, in particular the moisturization of keratin-containing fibres, an improvement in the vitality of keratin-containing fibres, in particular human hair, an improvement in the shine of keratin-containing fibres, in particular human hair, and are suitable for protecting against the destructuring of keratin-containing fibres during the colour and/or shape change.
