PURPOSE: A sound source search and play system and a method thereof are provided to conveniently play a play list satisfying user tastes regardless of types of a media player or storage positions of sound sources. CONSTITUTION: A database(300) stores metadata. Player control modules(200-1~200-n) extract the metadata of sound sources stored in media players and storage media. A database search module(500) searches the database for a sound source list corresponding to an input sound source condition inputted from a user. A play list generating module(600) generates a play list about the sound source list. A main control module(700) plays a corresponding sound source through the player control modules.
