In a storage battery device, a terminal plate comprises an element connector that is electrically connected with a first electrode at a first end of the storage element, and an external terminal that is connected with this element connector. A sealing member is positioned on the element connector and has an insertion hole into which the external terminal is inserted, and an aperture of an outer cover is sealed with the external terminal. The external terminal has a tapered section at the outer periphery of its tip, and part of this external terminal is exposed from the sealing member. The tapered section has a first end and a second end that is further away from the element connector than the first end. In a first direction extending from the bottom face of the outer cover towards the aperture, an end edge of the wall of the outer cover on the aperture side is positioned between the first end and the second end of the tapered section.
