PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a gas diffusion layer element for a solid polymer fuel cell.

SOLUTION: A gas diffusion layer element for a solid polymer fuel cell contains a sheet-like porous substrate and resin for sealing impregnated into fine pores in a peripheral part of the porous substrate. In the gas diffusion layer element for a solid polymer fuel cell, impregnation of the resin for sealing is carried out by applying laser light to film-like resin for sealing laminated and arranged at the peripheral part, and by melting the film-like resin for sealing.
