[Problem] To propose a tracking method capable of accurately tracking a moving subject. [Solution] An image processing device comprises: a distance information acquiring unit for acquiring information of the distance to a subject to be captured by an image capturing element; a pixel value information acquiring unit for acquiring the pixel value information of an image corresponding to the subject; and a tracking unit for, based on the acquired distance information and pixel value information, tracking the subject that moves. The image capturing element has a phase difference pixel for detecting the phase difference of the subject and performing a focus adjustment. The distance information acquiring unit acquires the distance information on the basis of the phase distance detected by the phase difference pixel.
