The device has battery cells (1) including external terminals (4), where a bus rail (10) is connected with the external terminals. A thin walled section of the bus rail and the external terminals are welded together. The thin walled section is designed along an outer edge of the bus rail. The outer edge of the bus rail includes a design without discrete sections. The bus rail includes a pair of connecting sections, which run evenly with a main body section and are connected with the external terminals. Each connecting section has a smaller breadth than the main body section. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an electrical storage device.
