Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for a UE to report a measurement result and a UE, which can report a measurement result to a base station in time and accurately, thereby improving UE communication continuity. The method for a UE to report a measurement result comprises: determining a mobile speed state of the UE, and determining a measurement parameter according to the mobile speed state; obtaining a measurement period of the UE according to the determined measurement parameter; and in the measurement period, measuring a cell to obtain a measurement result, and reporting the measurement result to a serving base station of the UE. The present invention is suitable for a UE to report a measurement result.
