A composite (10) has at least two component portions (16,18,20,22,24,26,28) which are integrally joined together by an adhesive bond in joining direction (12), and having different thermal expansions, and balancing insert element (30,32) arranged between component portions for stabilizing adhesive bond between component portions. The balancing insert element comprises iron, molybdenum, tantalum, tungsten, and/or their alloys. An independent claim is included for manufacture of composite.
