PURPOSE: A battery sensor and a battery monitoring system are provided to enable a user to check the imbalance of battery voltages due to the battery charging status and the degree of deterioration, thereby warning a user to take action in order to replace one battery among multiple batteries. CONSTITUTION: A voltage dividing resistor(Rd) divides the total voltage of a first battery and a second battery connected to the cathode of the first battery in series by a predetermined multiple. An ammeter resistor(Rs) is connected to the first and second batteries in series. A first integrated circuit(IC1) receives a total voltage and a voltage across the ammeter resistor and measures the total voltage and a single directional current of the first and second battery. A second integrated circuit(IC2) receives a second battery voltage and a voltage across an ammeter with opposite polarity from the first integrated circuit, and measures the second battery voltage and a current in the opposite direction from the one directional current.
