<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a graphics processing unit for bypassing a fragment shader. <P>SOLUTION: On the basis of determination that a fragment shading is bypassed by the shader unit of a graphics processing unit, the shader unit executes vertex shading, and bypasses the fragment shading. The other processing elements of the shader unit, for example, a pixel blender can be used for executing any fragment shading. When the fragment shading is bypassed, a power is managed such that the power of a component which is not used is turned off. For example, the power of a certain number of arithmetic logical units can be turned off, and the shader unit can use the reduced number of arithmetic logical units in order to execute the vertex shading. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
