PURPOSE: A power consumption control apparatus and a method thereof are provided to utilize a power storage part as a UPS, thereby supplying a backup power by automatically selecting a load. CONSTITUTION: A power consumption control method comprises a step of determining if supply of new renewable electricity or grid electricity is in an abnormal state. When both of the new renewable electricity and grid electricity are in abnormal state, an emergency mode which immediately finishes current operation of a load is conducted. When supply of the grid electricity is abnormal, but supply of new renewable electricity is normal, another emergency mode which waits to normally finish current operation of load is conducted.
