<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a countermeasure product against odor caused by a body fluid of cellulose pulp for a personal care or medical care absorbent product. <P>SOLUTION: A method includes: treating a lignocellulose-based material, preferably pulp, using an oxidant selected from the group consisting of hydrogen peroxide, hypochlorite salt, hypochlorous acid and any combination thereof in the presence of a transition metal catalyst; and forming a treated lignocellulose-based material having a viscosity of about 17 cp or less and having a reductive functional group selected from the group consisting of an aldehyde and an aldehyde type functional group at C6 and C1 positions but superior at a C1 position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
