<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new sensor and a method for manufacturing the sensor. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a biopolymer sensor 110 includes the processes of: providing a biopolymer; processing the biopolymer to obtain a biopolymer matrix solution, adding a biological material 112 in the biopolymer matrix; providing a base material; casting the matrix solution on the base material; and drying the biopolymer matrix solution to form a solidified biopolymer sensor on the base material.
