<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic sensor element capable of easily grounding a sensor core even when the sensor core is laminated between a first substrate and a second substrate, and to provide a magnetic sensor device. <P>SOLUTION: A magnetic sensor element 13 includes a core body 33 in which a first substrate 31, a first adhesive layer 36, a sensor core 30, a second adhesive layer 37, and a second substrate 32 are laminated in this order. The first substrate 31 includes overhang areas 311 that hang over from the second substrate 32. In the overhang areas 311, an end 301 of the sensor core 30 is exposed from the second substrate 32 to form an electrode part 30a.
