<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide phenothiazine compounds that are useful as drugs, for example, in the treatment of tauopathies, such as Alzheimer's disease. <P>SOLUTION: A 3,7 diamino-10H-phenothiazine compound is shown by the formula. In the formula, each of R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">9</SP>is independently selected from -H, C<SB POS="POST">1-4</SB>alkyl, C<SB POS="POST">2-4</SB>alkenyl, and halogenated C<SB POS="POST">1-4</SB>alkyl; each of R<SP POS="POST">3NA</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">3NB</SP>is independently selected from -H, C<SB POS="POST">1-4</SB>alkyl, C<SB POS="POST">2-4</SB>alkenyl, and halogenated C<SB POS="POST">1-4</SB>alkyl; each of R<SP POS="POST">7NA</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">7NB</SP>is independently selected from -H, C<SB POS="POST">1-4</SB>alkyl, C<SB POS="POST">2-4</SB>alkenyl, and halogenated C<SB POS="POST">1-4</SB>alkyl; and each of HX<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and HX<SP POS="POST">2</SP>is independently a protic acid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
