Provided are: a piezoelectric oriented ceramic including a Pb (Ti, Zr) O3 compound as a compound having a perovskite structure; and a production method therefor. This piezoelectric oriented ceramic is a piezoelectric oriented ceramic including a Pb (Ti, Zr) O3 compound having a perovskite structure. This piezoelectric oriented ceramic has a high orientation whereby the degree of orientation, calculated using the Lotgering method on the basis of an x-ray diffraction pattern in a prescribed cross-section of the piezoelectric oriented ceramic, is at least 0.64, and the sintering density is at least 85% of the theoretical density.
