Provided is a vehicle control apparatus such that both drivability and fuel economy can be well satisfied compared with the prior art in a hybrid vehicle equipped with a torque converter having a lockup clutch. In a control apparatus for a vehicle equipped with an engine, a motor generator, a torque converter with a lockup clutch, and a battery, when the vehicle is running at least by the driving power from the engine (step S1; NO), and the battery is not in an input/output limiting state (step S5; NO), a lockup region is extended (step S7) compared with the case where the battery is in the input/output limiting state. |
