<p>There is high demand from users of notebook computers, portable terminals, and other devices used in mobile environments for the ability to access home content from these devices while on a trip or when on a train during a commute. A content receiving device, which accesses a content transmitting device located in one's home from outside of the home, performs the following in advance while inside the home: determines a scheme for establishing a secure communication channel to a router, executes, between itself and the content transmitting device, first authentication processing and registration processing necessary for out-of-home access, and registers information relating to the content receiving device and out-of-home access information into a device information table of the content transmitting device. When the content transmitting device inside the home is accessed by the content receiving device from outside of the home, the content transmitting device is able to transmit content to the content receiving device only if the information relating to the content receiving device is registered into the device information table of the content transmitting device and second authentication processing using the out-of-home access information has succeeded between the devices.</p> |
