<p>Provided are a liquid crystal display device and a liquid crystal television which are capable of preventing light leakage from a light source. A liquid crystal display device provided with a light source (48) mounted on one surface of a substrate (47), a light-guide plate for receiving light from the light source (48) via a side-surface, and a liquid crystal panel for receiving light emitted from one surface of the light-guide plate via the rear surface of the panel, and displaying an image on the front-surface side thereof, the liquid crystal display device being further provided with: a connector (49) for supplying power to the light source (48) and provided on the one surface of the substrate (47); a front cabinet (2) for covering the substrate (47) and the front-surface peripheral edge section of the liquid crystal panel; and a cover body for covering the light-guide plate and the substrate (47) from the rear-surface side. Therein, the cover body has an opening in the section facing the connector (49), and the front cabinet (2) has a partition (24) for partitioning the space between the light source (48) and the opening.</p> |
