<p>The method involves providing piston (16) within the pumping chamber (19). A low pressure line is connected with piston and rail (40). The delivery rate of the high-pressure fuel pump (10) is controlled through the quantity control valve (20). The quantity control valve at zero promotion of the high-pressure fuel pump is controlled so that a pressure is generated in pumping chamber. The target pressure in rail is increased during zero-promotion of pump. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) high-pressure fuel pump; (2) control device for operating fuel injection system of combustion engine; (3) fuel injection system; and (4) computer program for operating fuel injection system.</p> |
