<p>The present invention relates to an electric vehicle and to a method for controlling same. The electric vehicle according to the present invention comprises: a high-voltage battery for driving the electric vehicle; a plurality of loads; an auxiliary battery for supplying driving power to the plurality of loads; a voltage-detecting unit for detecting a first output voltage and a second output voltage of the auxiliary battery; a converter for performing PWM switching in order to convert the voltage of the high-voltage battery to the voltage required by the loads and supplying the converted voltage to the auxiliary battery; a power relay assembly (PRA), which includes a plurality of relays and which switches the voltage of the high-voltage battery such that the voltage can be supplied to the converter; and a vehicle control unit for controlling the operation of the power relay assembly. The converter includes a converter control unit for determining whether or not to perform a charging operation on the basis of the size of the first output voltage of the auxiliary battery, determining, when the charging operation is performed, whether or not to perform a charging operation again on the basis of the size of the second output voltage of the auxiliary battery and the number of charging operations, and sending a relay-driving instruction signal to the vehicle control unit.</p> |
