PURPOSE: A wind power generation system and a control method thereof are provided to operate a wind power generation system by changing a power output factor in accordance with the capacity of the rest power rectifiers when some of the power rectifiers are out of order. CONSTITUTION: A wind power generation system comprises a blade(11), a power generator(12), a plurality of power rectifiers(13), and a system controller(14). The power generator generates electricity by the rotation of the blade. The plurality of power rectifiers is arranged in a row to convert electric power into power to be supplied to a system. The system controller controls the wind power generation system with changing a power output factor in accordance with the capacity of the power rectifiers in normal operation when some of rectifiers are out of order.
