PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for decreasing the temperature of a bomb using the latent heat of ILPG are provided to smoothly decrease the internal temperature of the bomb with simple control logic for controlling the opening and closing of a shutoff valve and the operation of a fuel pump with a controller, thereby having simple controller. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for decreasing the temperature of a bomb(110) using the latent heat of ILPG comprises a fuel pump(111), a shutoff valve(116), a fuel collection line, and an injection port(115). The fuel pump is installed inside the bomb to pressurize fuel. The shutoff valve is installed in a fuel supply line(112) to shut off the supply of the fuel to an injector. The fuel collection line is branched from the fuel supply line into the bomb to collect the supplied fuel into the bomb when the shutoff valve is closed. The injection port injects the fuel collected by the fuel collection line into the bomb.
