PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow editing of an overlay print form converted from a data format of a general-purpose host computer to a data format of an open type computer.

SOLUTION: A business form print server 3 includes an open type business form resource file 42 converted from a general-purpose machine resource file 41 by a business form transition conversion tool 43. The open type business form resource file 42 is made up of vector data of a predetermined format. A business form viewer designer 44 reads and plots the open type business form resource file 42 and allows it to be displayed on a display. When the business form displayed on the display is edited, an editing content is stored in the open type business form resource file 42.
