An array substrate (2), a liquid crystal display device including same and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The array substrate (2) includes an insulating layer (22) and an electrode layer densely covered with a plurality of pixel electrodes (23), wherein, the array substrate (2) is provided with a plurality of field variable areas (4), the thickness of the insulating layer (22) in the field variable areas (4) is different from that of the insulating layer (22) on the other areas, and the pixel electrodes (23) in the field variable areas (4) are conductive with those in the other areas. Since an electrode effect still exists in the field variable areas (4), a stronger electric field effect still exists in the areas, so that the number of the liquid crystal molecules keeping in a vertical state can be reduced, the size of the black point can be reduced, therefore the brightness is increased and the display effect at a large visual angle is improved.
