[Problem] The purpose of the present invention is to provide a generator control device for a hybrid vehicle whereby the amounts of torque produced by an engine and generator do not deviate from stable operating points and cause loss of synchronization. [Solution] This generator control device is provided with the following: an overall control unit (6) that provides control commands to a power-conversion-device control unit (7) and drive commands to an engine control unit (5) on the basis of the amount of power required by a load device (4); and a limiting device (8) that, when the speed of the generator (2) is less than or equal to a prescribed speed, constrains control commands from the overall control unit (6) so as to make the amount of torque produced by the generator (2) less than the amount of torque produced by the engine (1). By using the limiting device (8) to constrain the control commands, the amounts of torque produced by the engine (1) and the generator (2) are prevented from deviating from stable operating points and causing loss of synchronization.
