<p>Provided is a speed reduction device having a reduced axial length. A speed reduction device (1) is provided with a case (2), a carrier (17) which holds an externally toothed gear, a recess forming section (38) which is provided to the carrier (17), a pinion unit (4) which is connected to the recess forming section (38), a first main bearing (32), a positioning member (40) which applies a preload to the first main bearing (32), and seal members (118a, 118b). The positioning member (40) has a female thread section (40b) which engages, through threads, with the recess forming section (38), a flange (111), a contact section (116) which is adapted to be in contact with the seal members (118a, 118b), and holes (112a, 112b) which are formed in one end surface (113) of the positioning member (40) and which can engage with an operation jig (125). The holes (112a, 112b) and the contact section (116) are arranged side by side in the radial direction (R1).</p> |
