[Also in Group XXV] A brake for an electric motor associated with a sliding vehicle door operating mechanism (see Group XXV), comprises a disc 7 splined to the motor shaft 2 and pressed against a plate 10 by an armature 13 acted on by a spring 16. A solenoid 12 is. energized with the motor and holds the armature away from plate 10 against the action of the spring 16. The brake may also be released by manual rotation of shaft 18 threaded into sleeve 23 which is flanged at 24 to engage a flange 25 on the armature 13. |
