PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method and a composition for the diagnosis, prognostication and treatment of a cancer and/or myeloproliferative disorder.

SOLUTION: The method for the diagnosis or prognostication of a cancer and/or myeloproliferative disorder includes (i) determining the level of at least one miR gene product in a sample from a subject, and (ii) comparing the level of the at least one miR gene product in the sample with a control. The method for treating the cancer and/or myeloproliferative disorder of the subject includes administering, to the subject, an effective amount of the at least one miR gene product or an isolated variant or biologically-active fragment thereof.
