Blister packaging comprises: a blister foil with a deep drawn portion; a cover foil, which is connected to the blister foil; and at least 50 wt.% at least one biopolymer, based on the dry weight of the blister packaging. The blister foil has a support with less than 10 wt.% polymeric barrier layer, based on the dry weight of the blister packaging. Independent claims are also included for: (1) blister foil for the blister packaging, comprising the support applied with at least one polymeric barrier layer, where the support is a foil, whose dry mass comprises at least 95 wt.% biopolymer, and the polymeric barrier layer is present in an amount of less than 5 wt.%, based on the weight of the support and the polymer barrier layer comprises polyethylene; and (2) producing the blister foil, comprising applying the polymeric barrier layer on the support by extruding.
