PURPOSE: An FLP (Fast Link Pulse) signal detection device and an operation method thereof are provided to detect an FLP generated for connecting a link between the PHY end of a network infrastructure device and the PHY end of a client device in a network infrastructure environment comprising a router, a switch, and a home gateway. CONSTITUTION: An FLP signal detection module (322) detects an FLP inputted to a PHY end of a network infrastructure device. A MAC (Medium Access Control) power control module (312) controls the power supplied to a MAC end of the network infrastructure device regarding the detection of the FLP based on the FLP signal detection module. A PHY power control module (324) controls the power supplied to a PHY end of the network infrastructure device regarding the detection of the FLP based on the FLP signal detected by the FLP signal detection module.
