<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection device that can effectively protect an operator from exposure of radiation scattered from a gantry when applying a biopsy using an X-ray CT apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The protection device for an X-ray CT apparatus protection device includes: an arc-shaped and convex protection frame fitted in an upper part of an opening provided on a gantry of an X-ray CT apparatus; and a support means that can put the protection frame on an opening of the gantry for support. In the protection device for the X-ray CT apparatus protection device, a soft protection sheet for covering the opening of the gantry is suspended an inside of the arc-shaped protection frame and a cut is formed on the protection sheet in which a person can insert the arm thereof from the front side to the back side.
