<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a MXF file kept in a complete state. <P>SOLUTION: The file processing apparatus includes reception means, determination means and transmission means. The reception means receives a MXF file defined by MXF (Material Exchange Format) from a distribution device for distributing files. The determination means determines whether or not a footer defined by MXF is included in the received MXF file.
