[Problem] To provide a generator control device for a hybrid vehicle whereby the amount of power generated can be kept stable regardless of variations in engine output characteristics due to conditions or an operating state. [Solution] A generator control unit (9): computes a generator speed command value on the basis of a power-difference value corresponding to the difference between a generator power command value provided by a higher-level command unit (10) and the power output of the generator; uses the computed generator speed command value to PWM-control the output of a power conversion device (5) that converts power between the generator (3) and a battery (4); has the rotational speed of the generator (3) follow the generator speed command value; and has the power output of the generator (3) follow the generator power command value.
