STAPLE DRIVER FOR ARTICULATING SURGICAL STAPLER Abstract An articulating surgical instrument (10) is provided including a handle (12), an articulating portion (14) extending distally of the handle (12) and an end effector (16) 5 positioned on a distal end (18) of the articulating portion (14). A flexible drive band (70) is provided for movement through the articulating portion (14) and end effector (16). The flexible drive band (70) includes a first portion having a first height and the second portion having a second height greater than the first height. The difference in heights being sufficient to eject staples (64) from a body portion of the end effector (16) into an to anvil member (22) of the end effector (16). An actuation mechanism (20) is provided for drawing the flexible drive band (70) through the articulating surgical instrument (10). 0| |
