872,763. Primary batteries. PETRIXUNION G.m.b.H. Aug. 21, 1959 [Oct. 3, 1958], No. 28586/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 53. An electrolyte (e.g. zinc chloride) having a strong neutralizing action towards OH ions is present in a proportion of over 60% by weight of the dry depolarizing mass, the latter containing more than 15% (20-25%) by weight of soot (referred to depolarizer) and the depolarizing material is ground such that at least 70% passes a screen of 10,000 meshes per square centimetre. Zinc, manganese dioxide and titanium are the preferred active components but tantalum may be used as an alternative to titanium. The cell will give a continuous heavy current. |
