Modular configurable hardware system

The system (1) has an electronic circuit board arranged in a box-shaped housing, and cables provided at housing slots (8) for connection of the electronic circuit board. The housing comprises a plug-in shaft (10), and a plug-in module (7) is releasably insertable into the plug-in shaft and makes a releasable plug connection with the circuit board. A motherboard is arranged a base module (2) i.e. ground, of the housing and fed with a power supply of the hardware system via the base module. An interlayer (6) is arranged between the base module, an intermediate module (3) and a lid module (4).
