The method involves generating filter marks in a grammar structure (20) of an encoding scheme encoded network data on the basis of adjustable filter requests at network nodes (101-108). The filtering mask is generated on the basis of the filter tags. The encoded data stream is received with the encoding scheme in the network node. The data stream is filtered using the filter mask. The filtered encoded data stream is forwarded to the network node. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) device for filtering network data in network node; and (2) network node.
