<p>A mouthpiece breathing aid 1 comprises a hollow elongate body 3 defining an air passageway 7 between its open ends. The mouthpiece is dimensioned to be worn in the mouth of the athlete between the lips of the athlete and to maintain their lips in a spaced apart relationship, thereby maintaining an air passageway from the external atmosphere to the interior of the mouth of the athlete. The elongate body may have a flange 9 extending perpendicularly from the wall of the mouthpiece and intended to sit between the lip and gums of the wearer, and a pair of elongate clamping arms 11, 13 for the user to grip between their teeth. The mouthpiece may be provided with a filter 15 having small air pores 17 to prevent ingress of foreign objects into the wearer's mouth.</p> |
