PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lapping method, a lapping device, and a lapping gear for reducing a trouble in shaping the tooth face of a lapped gear. SOLUTION: In the lapping method, the lapped gear 2 and the lapping gear 3 which meshes with the lapped gear 2 are rotated while meshing with each other in the state that lapping agent containing abrasive grains exists therebetween, to polish the tooth face of the lapped gear 2 while changing the tooth number of the lapped gear 2 simultaneously meshing with the lapping gear 3. At least part of a first meshing portion 8 of the lapping gear 3 as a portion contacting the lapped gear in a relatively large simultaneously meshing tooth number has greater deflecting rigidity than a second meshing portion 9 as a portion contacting the lapped gear 2 in a relatively small simultaneously meshing tooth number.
